DMF Hospital
Part of Deepak Foundation's Annual Report, 2001-2002

It also offers laboratory facilities and has introduced sonography this year. Specialists in Gynecology, Obstetrics and Pediatrics from Baroda visit the hospital every week. The introduction this year of the ultrasound machine has added a much needed service in the area. So far, sonography services were available either in Baroda or Anand - both cities located at a distance from the Nandesari area. The sonography results are invaluable in detecting complications of pregnancy. The machine was installed in the month of May 2001 and since then 78 patients have utilized its services. Initially not many patients came forth to avail of the service. But after a demonstration was held for the women in November 2001 on the ultrasound machine and how it can identify OBGYN problems, the demand for the service increased. Of the 78 women who have had ultrasounds done, 13 have been treated free and the remaining 65 women have paid a subsidized amount.
The DMF hospital's mission is to offer quality care at affordable rates. It hopes to keep upgrading its facilities as and when needs arise from the local community. |
