Crop Science Division

The Crop Science Division is one of the newest initiatives of DFPCL.

The Crop Science Division of DFPCL seeks to forge a partnership with the Indian farmer by providing him the wherewithal to survive and thrive in the competitive WTO environment.

The Indian farmer is bogged down by low efficiency and productivity, which we believe, can be remedied if he is given the right technology and products - in other words, through the promotion and adoption of Precision Agricultural Technologies.

Seeds and nutritional products are two key inputs into agricultural production that are responsible for a high proportion of the costs of production. Hence they are logical starting points for introducing efficiencies in farming. DFPCL is present in the areas of seeds, has a full portfolio of primary nutrients (NPK), secondary nutrients (sulphur, magnesium and calcium), and have nutrients both for soil application and drip irrigation and foliar using 100% water soluble fertilisers. In conjunction, we also have in place, state of the art facilities for soil, leaf and water testing.

We at DFPCL, take a holistic approach to the needs of the farmer. Our partnership with the farmer does not end with the sale of better products, but extends to transferring the technology to them for realisation of optimum results. This is done through training, demonstration and handholding, which we do through affordable and yet commercially viable innovative programs - Agrinova Services.

Servicing the needs of the farmer is the prime focus of our activities, but we have several partners who help us in our endeavour. Our dealer and distributor network is of utmost importance to us in reaching out to farmers. We maintain close ties with the scientific community in universities and institutes which helps us in development and indigenisation of technology. We also have a network of franchisees for transfer of technology to farmers.
