Research and Development: Crop Science Division Mahadhan Agriculture Research Centre
The major activity of MARC is to under take research in the following areas: Research 1. Development of improved hybrids and varieties of important field crops and vegetables. 2. Crop Management through DFPCL's Speciality Agro-Products. 3. Production of nucleus seed of varieties and parental lines of research hybrids. 4. Quality control of seeds being produced and marketed by DFPCL. Training MARC plans to conduct short term training courses for farmers, dealers, sub-dealers and employees of DFPCL who are engaged in production and marketing of Seeds, Speciality Agro-Products (SAPs) and other Agri-inputs. DFPCL's Agri-Lab at Yerawada is one of the latest facilities for analysis of soil, water and plant tissue. Based on the analysis, recommendations are given for balanced nutrition of crops to achieve targeted yields without deterioration of soil fertility. MARC renders advice to groups of farmers as well as individual farmers for specific problems and also for the entire package of practices. |
The Crop Sciences Division of DFPCL has its Mahadhan Agriculture Research Centre (MARC) at village "Perne" in Haveli tehsil of Pune district.
