The Seeds Business Group provides quality seeds including Hybrids specially designed to be suitable for specific agroclimatic conditions. DFPCL's seeds are designed to provide high yields along with appropriate improvements, with built in resistance to pests and diseases and tolerance to adverse climatic conditions.

Deepak also has an ambitious breeding programme for introduction of hybrids, both in vegetable and field crops.

In addition to providing better seeds we also provide inputs for the best agricultural practices for a particular crop so that farmer can realise fully the yield / quality potential of the seed.

The Seeds Business has two sub groups that ensure that proper attention and focus is given to specific needs of farmers:

Vegetables: Domestic varieties of seeds that give superior yields for vegetables such as Tomato, Okra, Cauliflower, Peas, Radish and Brinjal among others are available under the Mahadhan brand. DFPCL also imports certain hybrid varieties of seeds such as capsicum, tomato, and cabbage. Mahadhan hybrids were introduced in 1999, and are gaining wide popularity among Indian farmers. Vegetable seeds are sold in small pouches under the brand "Sugam" for convenience.

Field Crops: Mahadhan Hybrids are available for cereals such as Maize, Bajra and Sorghum and fibre crops like cotton.

Our role does not end with the sale of seeds, but extends to advising and interacting with the farmers to enable them to reap the full benefit of superior seeds.
